2508 - Change your email, password, or name

Mistyped email or can't access email?
If you mistyped your email address when you created your account or you no longer have access to your email, please contact us.

You can change your Max account info (email, password, and name) on your phone, tablet, or computer.

What would you like to change?

Change email
  1. Sign in to Max on your phone, tablet, or computer. Can't sign in?
  2. Choose your profile and then Account.
  3. Choose the Edit icon pencil next to Email Address.
    Can't access email address? If you don't have access to your current email address, please contact us for help.
  4. Enter a new email address and choose Save. We'll send an email to your current account email address. 'Check your email and password' message.
  5. Check your inbox for an email from Max (email subject: Confirm Your Email Address Change). This email should arrive within 15 minutes. Didn't get the email?
  6. Open this email and choose Confirm Change.

Your email address is updated (sign in on all devices with your updated email address).

Change password
  1. Sign in to Max on your phone, tablet, or computer . Can't sign in?
  2. Choose your profile and then Account.
  3. Choose the Edit icon pencil next to Password.
  4. Enter your current password.
  5. Enter a new password and choose Save.
    Your new password should be at least 10 characters with no more than 4 repeating characters in a row.

Your password is updated (sign in on all devices with your updated password).

Change name
  1. Sign in to Max on your phone, tablet, or computer. Can't sign in?
  2. Choose your profile and then Account.
  3. Choose the Edit icon pencil next to Name.
  4. Enter a new first and last name and choose Save.

Troubleshooting

'Check your email and password' message

The email address that you entered may be in use by a Max or HBO Max account. Each account must have a unique email address.

If you get this message, try entering a different email address.

Didn't get the email?

If you didn't get a confirmation email from max@service.max.com (email subject: Confirm Your Email Address Change), try these things:

  • Search all of your inbox folders for an email from Max (including your Promotions and Spam folder).
  • Try the Change email steps again.
